About Our Founder

Gary D. Hooper is a native of Chicago, with an undergraduate degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and was an outstanding player on the men’s basketball team.  In 1982, he moved to Birmingham, Alabama, obtaining his law degree from the prestigious Birmingham School of Law.

Since 1983, Mr. Hooper has navigated a dynamic career path. He's not only excelled in private practice but has also ventured into the entrepreneurial world, successfully starting, and running various businesses.

As an accomplished trial lawyer with over four decades of experience. His track record includes leading or co-leading complex civil an d business litigation cases, spanning commercial disputes, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and much more. He's represented clients in class action multi-district litigation cases and FLSA collective actions, showcasing his versatility in both plaintiff and defendant roles.

Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Hooper wears multiple hats, serving as the trusted general counsel for several major corporations. His responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum, from legal matters to transactional expertise, risk management, intellectual property, litigation, and human resources. His influence extends to the day-to-day operations of these companies, where his experience as Managing Partner of a thriving automotive retail franchise has undoubtedly shaped his entrepreneurial acumen.

He has achieved successful results in countless complex civil litigation actions, both on the plaintiff's side and the defense.

Mr. Hooper also has significant entrepreneurial and business experience having organized and held the position of Managing Partner of a successful automotive retail franchise, as well as having been Secretary and General Counsel for one of the five largest home improvement companies in the United States. As General Counsel, he was responsible for building and managing the company’s legal department with executive oversight for the legal, risk management, and human resources departments, as well as day-to-day company operations.
